What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that are set to your web browser, allowing the website operator to provide services for web users, such as registration and online discussion. Cookies also provide information to the website operator about which pages and services are being used and how often. You can read more about cookies at this website.
Which cookies do the ITF websites use?
The ITF uses a number of its own cookies to provide web services to you and other users. The ITF also uses a number of third party cookies – meaning they are set by the organisation that provides the service – to offer content and services, such as blogs, forums, video, images, subscriptions and Twitter, Facebook and Google+ on its web pages. A final category of cookies used on the ITF web pages by third party providers, such as Google, allows the ITF to anonymously measure how popular its web pages and services are, in which languages they are visited and also how often.
For a full list of the cookies used across the ITF websites and what they do, please scroll down to the table at the bottom of this page. By continuing to use our website, you are agreeing to our use of cookies.
Why does the ITF need to use cookies?
Some cookies are important for the seamless delivery and smooth running of the ITF web services (e.g. remembering your preferences for language and region) while others allow the ITF to anonymously measure how successful its content is among web users. This data evaluation, also known as ‘analytics’, helps the ITF to plan future content and digital services that benefit its affiliates and worldwide audience.
How are cookies helpful when using the ITF websites?
Cookies allow the ITF to offer its web users access to membership services through MyITF and enhanced content across its public web pages such as video, image slideshows, blogs, forums and social network sharing. The cookies that enable these services can be blocked although this may impair the way in which you experience the web page and, in some cases, prevent the content or service from being accessed or properly loaded.
How can I control cookies?
Most web browsers will accept cookies, but if you would rather that we did not collect data in this way you can choose to accept all or some or reject cookies in your browser’s privacy settings. Rejecting all cookies means that certain features cannot then be provided to you and accordingly you may not be able to take full advantage of all of the website’s features and you may be prevented from completing, for example, a donation online. Each browser is different, so check the ‘Help’ menu of your browser to learn how to change your cookie preferences.
